Oh yes, the screws that hold the front on the charger have severely rusted, I may even have trouble trying to get the front off the charger now. Why cant it be like it first was? I also want to be able to charge my car without the delay which messes up trying to charge my car. I have to go out to the car, unplug the charger from my car and wait, sometimes an hour or more before the app tells me it’s stopped charging, only then will it let me lock it. When I stop it charging it won’t stop so I have to tell the car to stop and then the charger won’t do anything, it still says it’s charging and won’t lock so people could just use my charger. When it does charge the app doesn’t tell me how much I have put in my car or at what rate it’s charging, it takes ages to refresh. Now I plug my car in and it can take anything up to 20 mins before it even starts charging and my Tesla seems to think there’s something wrong with my charger so it doesn’t start charging when the timer gets to zero, I have to tell my car to start charging. ![]() It told me what rate I was charging at and how much it had put in my car, in real time. When I bought my charger it was great, just plug the car in and it charged. So for me, once installation issues sorted, apart from a solitary bug, very happy. Once the data cable was re-routed, it worked fine. I downloaded the installation manual and found that the data cable from the clamp on the house electric cable had been incorrectly installed alongside the charger cable. The charger wasn’t responding to the changing solar output. I also had a problem after solar was installed. ![]() I reported this to Hypervolt and it was resolved in a few days. Recently a bug appeared so if I used the app to stop or start charging, the app didn’t show the change in status. I think electricians installing chargers should pay more attention to the wifi signal strength and talk to their customers. I bought a tp-link mesh wifi system which has sorted this. The charger has always functioned correctly but communicating with it via the app was hit & miss at first due to poor wifi signal strength outside. I’ve had the charger since November 2021 and had solar finally installed in February 2022. I’m sure that this is an issue for all customers who want to use the scheduled charge function rather than the on demand. If the unit is set to scheduled charge and my partner needs to charge the car outside of the scheduled time, this issue is particularly painful as the steps for reconnection are far from straightforward. I would expect that once the WiFi is connected it remains connected as with every other home device. Until this is done then it is not possible to save any settings. ![]() This means that I have to cycle the power to my house which is not ideal. Without doing so no settings will save despite standing next to the unit and connected via Bluetooth. Once this happens the only way that I’m able to readd the device back to my home wifi is to power the unit off and on again. I’ve had no end of issues with the WiFi losing connection and reverting back to the default settings. I’ve owned the Hypervolt charger for 12 months now and despite having no problems with the unit - the app and software is bug ridden.
